Dua's mission has always been very aligned with sustainability. Because our oceans are being deeply affected by the climate crisis, we wish our products to be as environmentally-friendly as possible and offer smart and quality designs that will last throughout whole summers. So, how do we do so?
The first part of our sustainable process is to choose materials and fabrics that are as recycled as possible, and have no chemical or toxic dyes. Thus, we strongly advocate for ECONYL®: nylon waste from landfills and oceans around the world is transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon and becomes an infinitely recyclable fabric that can unleash infinite possibilities for makers, creators, and consumers. Our OCEAN design is made out of such a process.
Along these lines, we also ensure our production is locally-made in Barcelona. Off-shoring is one of the traits of fast-fashion and it becomes extremely polluting. By keeping our production at bay, we can ensure the quality and the processes we demand are fair, and according to our standards.
Our designs are also thought to have different positions or reversible options. This is to avoid having to overbuy. We believe that, if we want to become more conscious customers, we have to buy pieces that can be used in a variety of ways, and that we won't get tired of quickly. Because of our quality, our pieces will not only last throughout all summer, but you will also have more than one way to wear them, making them more profitable. Lastly, Dua also ensures our packaging leaves no trace behind. We do not use plastic at all, not even for our mailers. They are 100% compostable, made out of corn, and disappear in the compost in 6 months. They also have double tape in case you need a return or a change; this way, you will be able to use the same mailer and avoid unnecessary waste.
